fireside companion set FAQ's

1. What's included in a brass fire set?

Fire sets typically include essential fireplace tools: poker for adjusting logs, brush for sweeping ash, shovel for ash removal, and sometimes tongs for handling logs. All tools mount on a coordinating stand beside the fireplace, keeping tools organized and accessible.

2. Are brass fire tools functional or purely decorative?

Fully functional. Solid brass tools withstand fireplace use, though the brass handles stay cooler than all-metal tools. The substantial construction provides proper weight for effective log manipulation and ash management. Beauty and function unite in quality brass fire tools.

3. Will brass fire tools tarnish from fireplace heat?

Brass naturally develops patina, accelerated slightly by fireplace proximity and heat exposure. Most people appreciate this authentic aged appearance on fireplace tools—it suits the traditional character. For maintained shine, polish tools periodically with brass cleaner.

4. Can brass fire sets work in modern homes?

Yes, especially in contemporary finishes like Black or Nickel with streamlined designs. Even traditional brass gains modern relevance when styled correctly. The substantial quality of brass fire tools elevates any fireplace setting, providing tactile luxury that cheap alternatives cannot match.

5. How do I clean brass fire tools?

Wipe away ash and soot with damp cloth after tools cool. For deeper cleaning, use brass cleaner to restore shine. The durability of solid brass means you can clean thoroughly without damage. Store tools on their stand to keep them accessible and prevent damage.
