Removing Front Plate from Brass Toggle Switch

 Tools Required

• Small flat-bladed screwdriver (2.5–3.5 mm tip width recommended)

 Procedure Overview

1. Power Isolation

• Turn off power at the consumer unit (fuse box).

• Confirm switch is not live using a voltage tester.

 Removal Steps

A. Locate Pry Point

• Look for a small notch that are found on the left and right side of the switch/socket

• Insert flat-bladed screwdriver gently into the recess.

B. Release Clips

• Apply light upward pressure to disengage the first clip.

• Work around the perimeter to release remaining clip.

• Avoid twisting to prevent plate warping.

C. Remove Plate

• Once clips are disengaged, grip edges and pull plate forward.

• Set aside on a soft surface to avoid scratching.
